ACT Prep

Mercury offers a comprehensive online course for ACT preparation. Whether the student wants to focus on only one aspect of the ACT or more generally in order to brush up on their test taking skills, we offer the flexibility that is needed for effective ACT prep. The ACT is a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions in the United States and covers four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science. The optional Writing Test measures ability in writing a short essay.

The course can be completed by students working at home or at school and is available to those taking the test for the first time, trying to achieve a higher score are taking the course as an elective. Schools will additionally receive a teacher’s guide so they can support students taking the course.

Students Receive:

  • A practice test upon registration that will be used as a diagnostic tool to personalize the course according to individual student need
  • A one hour synchronous online class each week focusing on different areas of ACT prep, recorded for revision purposes and for those who cannot attend. Depending on the number of students we may be able to offer a choice of times. Each class needs to have a clear area of focus, which will also be reflected in the homework assigned that week.
  • Guided instruction set by the teacher each week with assignments marked promptly and targeted feedback offered. Students can expect 3-7 hours of independent work each week.
  • Regular practice tests so students can see their improvement
  • Online resources available for students to work on in their own time along with guidance as to the appropriate area of focus
  • An online US teacher available to answer questions (responses within 24 hours)
  • Online discussion rooms available for peer support
  • A personalized online learning environment where their can keep track of their assignments and progress
  • Materials are supplied by The American College Testing Program who administer the ACT

The course runs for 10 weeks with a minimum anticipated commitment needed of 40 hours but with resources built in to allow students to study further if they choose. Registration is priced at $450. Order Now
